Hiking in the Rain

We took a deliberate walk in the rain today up on the trails of Rib Mountain. The pitter-patter of rain drops bounced off my pink rain jacket while we sloshed through muddy terrain, trying not to slip or fall.

The air was alive with scents of green... wet leaves, spongy moss and ferns dripping with rain mingled with the earthy carpet of the forest floor.

My boots made contact with every rock and log, leaping along the trail and feeling the energy of the earth radiating upward through my legs.

My lungs breathed in the rich air, filled with negative ions from the rain, recent storms and full streams running full down the hillside.
